Equinox Theatre Company was founded by five active members of the Denver Theatre Community. Their mission is to show the lesser known side of theatre, to support and nurture new talent, and to prove there is a different way to present theatre to everyone. Equinox Theatre company is about change.
Colin Roybal, Co-Executive Producer
Colin Roybal is the Co-Executive Producer, and a founding member of Equinox Theatre Company. Colin’s versatile talents in theatre have found him wearing many hats, including director, music director, choreographer, actor, designer, and stage manager. For Equinox Theatre company, Colin has served as director for several productions including; Bat Boy: The Musical, Carrie: The Musical, Frozen, Little Shop of Horrors, and both Reefer Madness productions. In addition to the Equinox Theatre Company, Colin has also designed and acted in many shows around the Denver community, including recent design credits for Dial M For Murder (Vintage), Don’t Drink the Water (Spotlight), Mousetrap (Spotlight), Once on this Island (E Project), and Laughter on the 23rd Floor (Spotlight), as well as recent acting credits including Godspell (Jesus), Crazy for You (Mingo), 42nd Street (Andy), Little Shop of Horrors (Everybody else), A Chorus Line (Mark), Yours Anne (Peter), and Once on this Island (Daniel).
Deb Flomberg-Rollins, Co-Executive Producer
Deb Flomberg-Rollins is thrilled to be a founding member and part of the board of Equinox Theatre Company. Originally studying theatre at the University of Northern Colorado, Deb has been active in the Denver Theatre Community since 1997. She served as director and co-writer for the first show for Equinox – Below the Fold: A Blog on Stage. Other Equinox directing projects include: Evil Dead: The Musical, CryBaby the Musical, Dog Sees God, Kimberly Akimbo, In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play, Stop Kiss, and The House of Yes. Her theatrical endeavors have brought her to several theatre companies across the state performing in the annual production of Night of the Living Dead (The Bug Theatre), Shakespeare’s Brother (Celebrationworks), Mother Hicks (Firehouse Theater), A Murder is Announced (Spotlight), Sylvia, 20th Century and Once on this Island (E Project.) Deb has also directed Young Frankenstein: The Musical (Vintage,) The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Vintage,) The Tender Trap (Spotlight,) Lend Me a Tenor (The E Project,) and The Wizard of Oz (P.A.A.L.) She is so excited to be a part of this company and to bring new and different material to the Denver stage.
Chelsea Herold is thrilled to be a member of the Equinox Board and is so happy she has found a theatre family within Equinox Theatre Company. She has been seen in Equinox’s productions of: The Rocky Horror Show (Rocky/Usherette), Disaster! (Jackie), Evil Dead: The Musical (Annie) and Little Shop of Horrors (Chiffon) and after her first show she wanted to know how she could help grow this special company. Chelsea started in theatre at a young age singing and acting and recently started pursuing her passion again not only for Equinox Theatre Company, but for other local theatres in and around Denver. She holds a BA in Public Communication from Florida Atlantic University and has had over a decade of media and marketing experience working for large media companies and small advertising agencies. She brings both an actor and a marketer’s perspective to her board position and she cannot wait to see what Equinox can do in the upcoming years.
Kathryn is honored to be a part of this incredible company! She has been active in the Denver theater communituy since 2011, after graduating from the University of New Mexico in 2008 with her Bachelors in Theater. She truly enjoys combining her love of acting, stage manging and directing at various theater companies and growing her skill in character development and creative problem solving. Kathryn started working with The Bug and Equinox in the fall of Cannibal the Musical and then Equinox’s I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and Heathers. Notable acting roles include Goneril in King Lear, Lysander in Midsummber Nights Dream, Sarah Dodge in The Row, Madame Mariksa in A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, Julie Stone in Antiques Revenge Show and Henrietta Hottentottne in Grapes of Wrath. Kathryn can’t wait to see how Equinox grows and continues to nurture Denver community theater.
